Tawanda W. Johnson is a seasoned writer, editor, strategic and digital communicator, and public relations expert. She received her bachelor’s degree in journalism from Syracuse University and master’s degree in strategic public relations from The George Washington University. Tawanda began her professional career as a journalist at Gannett Suburban Newspapers in Westchester County, New York, followed by positions at The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, The New Pittsburgh Courier and The Baltimore Examiner. Her career has involved covering issues such as municipal government, police, STEM education, science policy, entertainment and diversity issues. For the past 14 years, Tawanda has worked in the public relations field. Additionally, she is skilled in design thinking concepts and diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives.
